(And We gave him the glad tidings of Ishaq -- a Prophet from the righteous.) having given the glad tidings of the one who was to be sacrificed, who was Isma`il, Allah immediately follows that with mention of the glad tidings of his brother Ishaq. This is also mentioned in Surah Hud (11:71) and in Surat Al-Hijr (15:53-55). Allah said: فَبَشَّرْنَـهُ بِغُلَـمٍ حَلِيمٍ. (So We gave him the glad tidings of a forbearing boy.) This child was Isma`il, peace be upon him, for he was the first child of whom glad tidings were given to Ibrahim, peace be upon him, and he was older than Ishaq. The Muslims and the People of the Book agree, and Allah said, (And also another (blessing) which you love,) meaning, `I will grant you more favors that you like,'. (help from Allah and a near victory.) meaning, if you fight in Allah's cause and support His religion, He will grant you victory. Allah the Exalted said, (O you who believe! If you help (in the cause of) Allah, He will help you, and Ibnu Abbas r.a., Mujahid, Sa'id ibnu Jubair, Ad-Dahhak, dan Qatadah mengatakan sehubungan dengan makna firman-Nya: dan Ibrahim membaringkan anaknya atas pelipis (nya). (Ash-Shaffat: 103) Yakni menengkurapkan wajahnya. Imam Ahmad mengatakan, telah menceritakan kepada kami Syuraih dan Yunus. Keduanya mengatakan, telah menceritakan kepada kami (Dan Kami jadikan anak cucunya orang-orang yang melanjutkan keturunan) dengan demikian maka manusia semuanya adalah anak cucu dari Nabi Nuh a.s. Nabi Nuh mempunyai tiga orang anak, yaitu Sam adalah bapak moyang bangsa Arab, bangsa Persia dan bangsa Romawi; Ham adalah bapak moyang bangsa yang berkulit hitam; Yafits adalah bapak moyang bangsa Turki, bangsa Khazr, Ya'juj dan Ma'juj dan lain-lainnya. 26 Tafsir jalalayn Then We ransomed him, the one whom he had been commanded to sacrifice, namely, Ishmael or Isaac -- two different opinions -- with a mighty sacrifice, [a mighty] ram from Paradise, the same one that Abel had offered as as sacrifice; Gabriel, peace be upon him, brought it and the lord Abraham sacrificed it as he cried, Allhu 54ubrR5.
